Last day, and in true Key West style, we spent it on an all-day and evening pub crawl. Dave stole my blog’s thunder on Facebook yesterday, so I apologize to those who think this is, in fact, a recap.
We started the morning on an epic adventure for Gear Oil. Unfortunately, when you are on your own boat, maintenance is part of vacation. Luckily, we found it after only a couple of stops and came across this cool sign.

After the gear oil, it was on! Stop number one was Durty Harry’s. Unfortunately, it is a night-only bar, but it is still really neat to look at all the military memorabilia.

The real bar number 1 was Rick’s, which is basically next door. We were greeted by drunk cruisers singing Country Roads at the top of their lungs. Super fun atmosphere.

While we were in Rick’s, it started to rain. That was the first rain shower of the day during the whole trip in the tropics, which is lucky indeed.
The rain slowed us down; we had another drink, then decided to dash across the street back to Sloppy Joe’s.

Duval in the rain

A lot of people are hiding from the rain at Sloppy Joe’s.
While we were in Sloppy Joe’s, we decided to eat a sloppy joe. They were really good. A little too sweet for me, but still tasty. Dave loved his; he ate it before I could get a picture of both of them.

After Sloppy Joe’s, it was time for Captain Tony’s Saloon. This is one extremely unique bar. It has very low ceilings and is very dark. It was the original location of Sloppy Joe’s. It is also built around a tree where they used to hang pirates.

Dollar bills, stickers, and patches are the norm in Key West, but they have bras, too! There were some BIG bras!

I don’t know what to think of this sticker. They had to have the forethought to make these. I want to know how many they made and where they used them. Kudos to you, Mark and Amy!
After Captain Tony’s, I was on my way to drunk, so we had to slow down and do a little shopping. I found a really cute new bathing suit.
We then went back to the boat for a slow walk to Schooner Wharf Bar. It was our favorite bar of the trip. The waitresses confirmed that Kenny comes in all the time and records in Buffet’s studio. They even had pictures to prove it. Just knowing he really hangs out there satisfied Dave. He was glowing as we stumbled to the next bar.

OKC PD is now a part of SWB
Just a short walk and we were at Dante’s. We are super sad no one told us about Dante’s before yesterday! It is a bar at a pool. After the rain, the pool temperature was perfect. It is probably a good thing we didn’t know about it, or we might never have gone anywhere else.
Happy Hour(s) was starting as we got to Dante’s so the drinking was really on now. 5.00 apps and BOGO drinks sealed the deal for a few hours of swimming and drinking for us.

Contrary to popular opinion, we are not naked
We ended the night at our favorite restaurant, Conch Republic, where we wrapped up Happy Hour and had our last meal of surf and turf.

This is an acronym, if you are ever in Key West ask the Bartender what it means.
And just like that, our last night in Key West came to an end. We are leaving very early in the morning, as it will be another 8-hour day at sea back to Ft. Lauderdale.
Here’s to wishing our pretty lady takes us safely back into port tomorrow.
